An Air Experience Flight is defined as carriage of a person who is a member of the GFA (which may be short term or introductory membership as defined from time to time by the GFA Council( for the purpose of experiencing the sport of gliding.

Bothwell Gliding Club usually operate out of Cambridge Airport (next to the main Hobart Airport). We offer a unique experience where you can glide over Mount Wellington, Hobart city and the Derwent Estuary.

Hobart & Mount Wellington Glider Air Experience Flights

Bookings are essential. Flights can be on any day of the week provided there is an instructor available.

There are three flights:

Standard: About 20-25 minutes. Take off from Cambridge, climb over to Hobart City, glide back to Cambridge airport. *

* Note: Standard flights are only available when two or more flights are to be done consecutively.

Deluxe: about 35-40 minutes. Climb over to Hobart city suburbs, glide down the river. Climb again to over Mount Wellington, glide back for a landing at Cambridge.

Super Deluxe: about 1 hour. As for the Deluxe, but with extended soaring over and around Mount Wellington before gliding back to Cambridge.

All flights are subject to weather conditions being suitable, and to the availability of air traffic control clearances from the control tower at Hobart Airport. The pilots decision on whether to fly or not is final.

Woodbury is about half way between Hobart and Launceston just off the Midland highway near to Tunbridge.
